Mission Statement

To enhance the general welfare of our community by promoting the beautification of the town of Bethel. We eagerly pursue knowledge in all aspects of gardening and we strive to stimulate interest in and appreciation for our public gardens, window boxes and planters.  As an active club, we encourage all members to participate by using their individual skills to benefit our town.

Annual dues are collected each calendar year. A portion goes to support the Federated Garden Clubs of Connecticut and their informative newsletters, which all members receive.

The Bethel Garden Club is a non-profit organization.

Meetings

Meetings are generally held on the first Friday of each month at the Bethel Municipal Center. There are no monthly meetings in January, February, July, and August.

Most meetings include a garden theme program presented by a guest speaker. These meetings are open to the public and will be listed on our calendar.

Special Events

MORE GARDENING PROGRAMS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC: The Bethel Garden Club sponsors the Annual Gardening Series at the Bethel Public Library. The popular series consists of three programs and is generally held in March and April. See the Library's online calendar at  www.bethellibrary.org for dates and to register.

PLANT SALE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC: The Club holds an annual plant sale on the Saturday after Mother's Day at 141 Greenwood Avenue, Bethel, from 9 am to 1 pm. It's a great opportunity to get tried-and-true locally grown perennials as well as certified organic tomato plants--all at very reasonable prices.
